THREE North Staffordshire hospitals have been told to stop drafting in nurses from agencies not approved by the NHS after an investigation found they were costing too much.

The practice of using temporary staff at Bradwell, Cheadle and Leek community hospitals also raised doubts over whether workers had undergone criminal record bureau (CRB) checks.
