TRADERS have been praised for helping launch a town's Christmas festivities after a cash-strapped council pulled the plug on its lights and decorations.
Members of the Tunstall Chamber of Trade took over the annual Christmas lights switch-on after Stoke-on-Trent City Council revealed it would not fund decorations outside the city centre. Hundreds attended the event on Friday and praised businesses for rescuing the event.See the full content of this document
