Sir, - With regards to the article on the four men jailed over a cannabis operation (The Sentinel, September 4), please can our local asylum officials, MPs, MEPs, or someone, please explain to me (and, I would like to think, a number of other people in Stoke-on-Trent) why these people will be allowed to stay in our country once they are released from prison? I cannot believe that they will not be deported. They knew that they were doing wrong, and I would guess that they were not really afraid of any major reprisals from our justice system. The police must feel frustrated at nothing being done to return them to their own country.

Let's have them sent back to China for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
