UNTIL 1993 Jean Parry ran the local shop in the Tesco part of Trent Vale, an area that had an amazing sense of community.

Tesco and all the other major retailers came but still the place to go every day was Jean's. In 1993 her landlord sold the shop and flats, and the area changed.
