In response to the proposed teen shelter in Norton. As one of the people who worked for seven years to raise the funding for the activity centre, I am totally against the erection of this shelter. In my opinion it is not needed as there is a purpose-built building on the site which contains male, female and disabled toilet facilities, two changing rooms and a kitchen.
The covenant on this land states that the area is to be used for recreational purposes for the people of the parish of Norton-le- Moors - this means everyone. When we, the Norton Residents' Association, were in control of this area, we raised funding to provide supervised coaching for young people. We also held an annual sports/funday which attracted more than 200 people, young and old.See the full content of this document
