SCORES of agency workers are being drafted in to schools after dozens of staff were left stranded abroad by the volcanic ash chaos.
A total of 31 primaries and secondaries across Stoke-on-Trent were affected by staff shortages yesterday as thousands of families are stuck overseas because of flying restrictions due to ash drifting across Europe from Iceland. Stoke-on-Trent City Council yesterday confirmed the unprecedented crisis meant some 60 school staff are currently unable to return to the UK following the Easter break.See the full content of this document
