MADAM,- I don't live in the area anymore (how I miss those oatcakes) but I have a friend who keeps me in touch with life in good old Newcastle-under-Lyme, and she sends me paper cuttings.

I have especially enjoyed the Henry White's stories. I worked there in the 1960s on hosiery as a sales assistant.
