Summary
WITH the Flat season still in its early throes, it is not a time to go steaming into anything just yet - but horses who act in soft ground are a must.
Hawridge Star, who lines up at Folkestone, thrives in testing conditions and while his form does not mark him out as a winner, it may pay to bank on his ability to act on the ground. Trained by Stuart Kittow, the eight-year-old has struggled with injuries, but it has to be seen as a plus that he is ready to go so early in the season. That can only mean he has been injury free for some time and he looks well handicapped. Hawridge Star last won in heavy ground in an amateur riders' race at Haydock in September 2008, for which he was raised 8lb. Only seen twice last season, the ground was not testing enough on either occasion but he has come down 3lb, which is handy ahead of the ladbrokescasino.com Handicap (4.10).See the full content of this document
