LORRY trailer specialist Don-Bur is taking part in the trial of a revolutionary new truck. The Adderley Green manufacturer has supplied one of its aerodynamic "teardrop" trailers, pictured right, for what is thought to be the first 18-tonne hybrid distribution vehicle. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor and a diesel engine, which can be used separately or together, to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15 per cent. It also produces lower emissions and noise levels. DHL and Volvo are the other partners in the trial.
Last month Sentinel Business reported Don-Bur had taken on about 50 new recruits after investing Pounds 1 million in two new workshops to cope with demand for its distinctive teardrop products.See the full content of this document
