SOAKED: Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused by flooding at a primary school.

The water damage, which affected two classrooms and two offices, at Cheadle Primary School, was the result of a burst cold water pipe that had thawed out following the freezing conditions. Headteacher Mike Prescott said: "The water was up to my ankles. It had gone through ceilings and has affected the entrance area and two classrooms and their immediate areas." The school has been helped by nearby Cheadle High School which has lent them computers to replace those damaged in the flood.
