R FARR's letter (September 30) reminds us that officers have recommended the closure of all the public conveniences under the administration of Newcastle Borough Council.
Is Newcastle really serious about challenging neighbouring Hanley as a shopping centre? The Borough Council should be aiming to provide a comprehensive retail experience that will keep shoppers in the town for a good three hours or more - in which case, toilets are indispensable.See the full content of this document
