Summary
UNDERWORLD, now a mere dilapidated wreck, a bit like Liz MacDonald, has produced its last pair of knickers.
Nick has drawn a blank on renting premises and can't meet the existing orders, a bodyblow to the sole supplier of the Weatherfield double gusset on Batley central market. Nick is forced to tell the workforce he's failed. Underworld is no more. Their jobs are gone but they're welcome to a roll of firedamaged knicker elastic. Elsewhere, Roy's romantic gesture meets a watery end when Hayley inadvertently puts the love letter he's written her in the wash. Gutted, Roy plans a special dinner for later. That's the joy of owning a cafe - there's always plenty of leftovers. Roy, pictured below, thus surprises Hayley with a candlelit feed. Her mind has been on Underworld - understandable since she's gone from Y-Front to G-string in her period of employment - so when she asks what prompted such a kind thought, she's stunned as Roy goes down on one knee and asks her to marry him again.See the full content of this document
