Roadworks to Shut Busy Road for Three Months

A CRUMBLING road is set to be closed to traffic for up to another three months. Belmont Road - which links Cheddleton and Ipstones - is already closed to traffic following the discovery of a large hole in the carriageway. Now highways officers have warned that the road could remain shut until December 14 so repairs can be carried out to retaining walls.

The closure is in place between Coley Hole and the B5053 Froghall Road. It means traffic has to be diverted along Froghall Road, High Street, Onecote Road, Bottom Lane, Ashbourne Road, Apesford Lane and Basford Green Road.
