To achieve a balanced budget that will deliver the required outcomes and free up funds to be reinvested into priority areas, a range of initiatives are proposed that will deliver pounds2.811m of savings in 2008/09, pounds3.331m in 2009/10 and pounds3.451m in 2010/ 11. The savings are outlined below. All of the unspecified proposed savings will be subjected to rigorous service reviews for the star chambers, to assess their impact upon overall performance and budget of the directorate, as well as their impact upon the council's and community's overall priorities.
