May I correct some misleading statements regarding the ancient right of way leading from Church Lane, Wolstanton, to Alexander Road, May Bank. It was in July 2005, that some residents erected gates at the Church Lane entrance and the at the junction with the Marsh.

These were put up without any compliance with the law and as a result the footpath was closed off for a period of time.
