The management of Trentham Estates are obviously out of touch with the real world. Have they actually gone down there, say, on a cold winter's morning and seen just how many local people are walking their dogs, calling into the cafe for a drink and a bite to eat? At weekends there are hundreds of families with young children. How can they afford to pay just to walk round the lake? This is definitely a step backwards. My husband and I enjoy a walk at Trentham every week, we call in for coffee and sometimes buy bits and pieces in the shops, but in future we will have to find somewhere else to walk - and I'm sure we won't be the only ones.
