Random testing of taxis has revealed faults in nearly half of the vehicles stopped.
A total of 17 taxis were pulled off the road in Newcastle. They were sent for testing at Newcastle Borough Council's depot in Knutton Lane as part of an operation between the police and the Vehicle And Operator Services Agency (VOSA).See the full content of this document
