City boss takes STOKE City manager Tony Pulis angrily dismissed any "long-distance travelling" excuses for his side's stunning 4-0 loss at Sunderland. Pulis saw his players surrender their nine- match unbeaten start to the season in devastating fashion after conceding three goals inside the first 30 minutes at the Stadium of Light.

Defeat came just three days after Stoke's Europa League clash in the Ukraine, but six of yesterday's starting line-up didn't even travel for that match.
