I SEE that Shelton Pool, pictured above, is in the running again for closure. In the council plans for cuts, both Shelton and Tunstall pools are up for closure. Out of the two, I feel that Tunstall should be the one saved, the building is so historic.

But what can be done to save Shelton Pool? I read in The Sentinel that 76,000 people used this pool last year, and I am sure that all these people want to see it saved. If that is right, why were there only 1,500 who bothered to sign the petition to keep it open? That's only two per cent of the people who used the pool - that's appalling.
