NEW regulations governing lap dancing clubs will come into effect in Stoke-on-Trent later this year.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is set to take over responsibility for regulating sexual entertainment venues in the city from the Home Office on April 1. The council approved the step last October, and has spent several months carrying out a consultation exercise ahead of implementing a new licensing policy for the venues.
