CAPABLE?: I would like to express my disappointment to those in charge of The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and the Staffordshire Hoard exhibit. Like the 52,000-plus visitors, I was delighted to view such a local treasure so close to home. Having witnessed the media attention regarding the queues, I decided to avoid visiting in the first week entirely, and visited the exhibition on Tuesday, March 2.
I arrived no later than 1.30pm, only to be told the queue to view the Hoard was now closed. While I appreciate the interest in this exhibit has been overwhelming, I don't consider it acceptable for the museum to be open for three-and-a-half hours before effectively closing the exhibit.See the full content of this document
