Losing streak over for betting chains? Betting shops have suffered a poor start to the football season because the big-name sides have been winning, while less than handful of Premier League games in September ended as a draw - not great news for bookies as most gamblers bet on a win. It has already been a tough year for William Hill and Ladbrokes. Earlier in the year, William Hill axed its dividend and announced a pay freeze, although it did manage to get a Pounds 350 million rights issue away.
Only a fortnight ago, Ladbrokes issued a profits warning and revealed revenue in betting shops had fallen 22 per cent during the third quarter.See the full content of this document
