MADAM, - I wonder if any readers remember Billy Simcoe, the long- serving licensee of the Foaming Quart, in Greenhead Street, Burslem? He kept the pub until about 1963.
Some veteran Boslemites recall that Billy used to tinkle the ivories on Friday nights. He kept a little terrier that would sit on a stool next to his piano, and if Billy played a certain tune, the dog would howl its head off.
