THE HEAD of the NHS in the West Midlands has been appointed to a new national role overseeing quality in the entire health service.
Ian Cumming, chief executive of NHS West Midlands, which looks after the service in Staffordshire becomes nationwide managing director for quality to oversee standards as the service undergoes its biggest reform for generations. He will lead key areas of national work ensuring systems are in place to protect quality of care and specifically patient safety in the NHS during the changes and incorporating any recommendations from the Stafford hospital scandal public inquiry.See the full content of this document
