NANTWICH town centre became a winter wonderland for some fittingly festive fund-raising. Around 350 Santas ran through the streets yesterday morning in the town's first ever Santa Dash, organised by Sandbach charity Railway Children.
Snowfall threatened to make the run a slippery affair, but volunteers were out gritting the route from 8am to ensure the safety of participants. As the sun came out for the start of the race, the snow simply added to the festive atmosphere. Runners could choose to run 5km or a more leisurely 2.5km, and altogether they helped to raise more than Pounds 10,000 for the charity, which works with street children in the UK, Africa and India.See the full content of this document
