Summary


WE LEARN from an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) report that our wasteful NHS reduces our lifespan, on average, by three years and four months. The OECD have used a some highly complicated formula to arrive at this figure but it means because of NHS shortcomings and inefficiencies we are all dying earlier than we need to.

But wait a minute. Before anyone gets too concerned about this, we should remember that because of our ever-increasing life expectancy we are already having to work a bit longer than we did, and the pension age is soon rising to 66, and may have to rise to 70 in the future.
