Sir, - I was interested to read the letter from A Dickens (Middleport is full of martyrs, June 2), concerning the housing clearance in Middleport by Renew.
Whether or not you agree with the views in the letter, I believe one thing which has become clear is that many games are being played, not least by councillors who are trying to exploit the situation caused by the housing clearance for their own political ends. One of the reasons why I stood for election this year was to draw attention to how this issue was being misused, and although I did not gain the number of votes I would have hoped for, I am very grateful to the people who supported me.See the full content of this document
