COUNCILLORS of Stoke on Trent say not raising council tax would be irresponsible. Well, that is fine talk coming from the most irresponsible council in Britain. We all know we must pay this tax or we would not get the amenities we have, but, as anything in life, there are always ways to save a few pennies.

They should try to cut down the useless items they continue to fund. They could try turning of all the lights in their buildings when there is no one working in them. They could even try to travel less in there cars. Why not take control of waste disposal instead of hiring waste companies to empty the bins? They could even start to make a good profit from doing this, after all the current waste company is making a very good profit indeed.
