IN THE FRAME: An exhibition space for artists is set to reopen after being taken on by a businessman. The Old Post Office Gallery and Studios, in Burslem, shut around 12 months ago, just a year after a Pounds 40,000 renovation. Resident artists and a number of pottery companies have remained in the Wedgwood Street building, but members of the public have missed out on the chance to enjoy exhibitions by local artists. A new company, called Mothertown, has been set up to run the attraction, which will reopen on Friday. Keith Dawson, left, has taken on the lease.
The 57-year-old, from Milton, who runs Staffordshire Creamware, based in the same building, said: "I wanted to have an outlet for our work but also felt Burslem needed a boost. As far as I am concerned, Burslem is the centre of art work in Stoke-on-Trent and this should help to give it a boost."See the full content of this document
