FLYING forward Rob Taylor insists he will not take his foot off the gas in the wake of earning a two-year contract extension with Port Vale. Taylor, who is 25 today, was handed an early birthday present on Thursday when he signed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2012. Now the versatile midfielder has set his sights on continuing his progress under the expert eye of Micky Adams. "In another two years' time I want to up there as one of the best players in the team," said Taylor, who is suspended for today's trip to League Two leaders Rochdale. "My first aim is to be playing week in, week out, which is a major thing for any player. "But that is something you have to earn. You can't just take it for granted."
Taylor was brought to the club from non-league Nuneaton Borough by former manager Lee Sinnott in the summer of 2008.See the full content of this document
