SO WHAT do you reckon should be done with Burslem Town Hall? It's one of the city's most beautiful buildings but it's been without use since last year (along with its muchmaligned glass-fronted extension) since pottery museum Ceramica closed and then finally went into liquidation. I'm sure we're all agreed that something must be done with it, but what? Butters John Bee, which is marketing both the lease on the town hall and the extension, is currently inviting informal tenders and is expecting both local and national interest.
I imagine buyers' visions will diverge wildly; in November we reported how promoter Paul Dykes had drawn up plans to turn it into a venue for boxing dinner shows, whereas national chains are likely to have other ideas.See the full content of this document
