CONCERNS have been raised about the quality of computer support available to staff at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. A report to be discussed by the fire authority this week says problems with in- house computer systems have developed over the last few years. A report prepared for Wednesday's meeting states the problems "culminated in large numbers of staff constantly unable to access systems due to extremely slow network connections or unreliable hardware".
And it adds that the department responsible for looking after the IT systems had become "purely reactive" and only responded "when things became critical and with little or no future planning".See the full content of this document
