Cheddleton and Leek Chess Club claimed four victories this week in the North Staffs and District League.
Cheddleton C consolidated fourth place in Division Two after beating Holmes Chapel B in a tough match. Wins through Dave Buxton, of Cheddleton, John Yee and 16-year-old Ebrahim Arshad (16) ensured overall victory alongside a draw by Nick McLean. The D team lost heavily to Stafford B in a closely-fought Division Three encounter. Keith Brownlee and Leek's Pete Tomczak netted the D outfit's only points with two draws. The F side strengthened its position in Division Four after overcoming Alsager C by a defaulted board, the win of David Rose, from Waterhouses, and the draw of 16-year-old Megan Moruzzi of Leek.See the full content of this document
