A SPEEDING driver who ran over and killed a young student as he raced away from police has reappeared in court in connection to the crash.

Banned driver Barry Hardy crashed into 17-year-old pedestrian Jessica Harrison as she crossed Mill Road, in Cheadle, on January 17 last year. Hardy, of Leek Road, Cheadle, was jailed for eight years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court last June after admitting causing Jessica's death by dangerous driving, failing to stop following the crash and driving without insurance and a licence.
