RUSSELL Downing, leader of the Stone-based CandiTV/Marshalls Pasta race team, claimed the British Cycling Premier Calendar Series title with a race to spare after winning the Tour of Pendle in Lancashire.
With three kilometres of the 140km race to go, Downing escaped from his breakaway rivals, Chris Newton (Rapha Condor) and Rob Partridge (Halfords), and rode alone into Nelson town centre to cross the line.See the full content of this document
