THIS letter is to warn people not to lose their passports abroad. While my husband and I were on holiday in Spain last week, our holiday home was burgled. Presents, passports, driving licences, mobile phone, plus many, many more things were taken. My daughter- in-law phoned the police, and made a statement. We could not fly home for two days as the British Embassy was closed for the weekend.

When we did go, we were told we could get a temporary passport, which was a great relief. Then the bad news. It was going to cost us Pounds 133 each for a one day passport. As I had cancelled my cards, and my husband's were taken, we did not have enough money left, as it was our last day when the theft happened.
