Crewe's torturous pursuit of Blue Square Premier marksman Stuart Fleetwood could be over after they had an improved bid accepted by Forest Green Rovers.

The non-league outfit turned down an initial pounds175,000 offer for the 30-goal marksman. However, they finally agreed a package over the weekend which, with appearance-related cash, could take the deal over the pounds200,000 mark.
