Peter Coates an 82-year-old retired teacher and methodist minister, lives with his 78-year-old wife Jill in Brough Lane, Trentham. The couple have three children and eight grandchildren.

Can you remember where and when you first met? Peter: Very clearly. It was on March 7, 1951, on the doorstep of Jill's parents' house in Burton. I was at theological college in Birmingham and I'd been sent to conduct the Sunday School anniversary services at their church.
