THE Liberal Democrats have lost the right to call themselves an independent progressive party. By joining Mr Cameron's Government, the Lib Dems have turned their backs on a progressive alliance with the Labour Party which could have delivered constitutional reform and rebuilt Britain's economy. Instead, Lib Dem MPs will be obliged to support immediate spending cuts that will produce job losses and poorer public services.

On May 6, millions of people across Britain voted Liberal Democrat to keep the Tories out of Downing Street. I am sure that may of these voters do not support Mr Clegg's choice of coalition partner.
