CLEAN UP: Potteries children are pitching in all week to spruce up a valley targeted by litter bugs. Pupils from St Maria Goretti Primary School, in Bucknall, arrived at Bentilee Valley yesterday to collect litter and plant more than 500 new flowers as part of the 'Big Tidy Up'.

Around 100 volunteers are expected to help out throughout the week, with community members and pupils from Maple Court Primary School and Mitchell High School also joining in.
