A Priest is fighting a water company's plans to drain the finances of churches by charging them for the water that collects on their roofs.

The Reverend David Taylor, team rector of Congleton and rural dean of Congleton deanery, is protesting against proposals by United Utilities to charge churches and charities a "rain tax". It's expected that Severn Trent will begin charging churches and charities from next year, but will bring in the charges over time.
