CHESHIRE: The fire service is hosting special Awareness Days to help recruit women and ethnic minorities into the brigade.

Deputy chief fire officer Paul Hancock said: "We are proud of our staff, however we are also conscious that we do not get many women or people from ethnic minority backgrounds applying for firefighter positions. This is something we want to address in a positive way."
