BEARING FRUIT: Children got their hands dirty as they helped to plant trees at their nursery.
A total of 12 apple, cherry and elder trees, as well as rose bushes, were planted at The Croft Day Nursery, in Lancaster Road, Newcastle, yesterday. Nursery nurse Sam Holdcroft said: "The children had a lot of fun planting the trees. "Our hope is that the trees will grow and children will be able to enjoy the fruit in the future."See the full content of this document
