Kick-off had already been delayed until 3.30pm with no sign of the visitors, so exasperated referee Mike Jones said he had to uphold the integrity of the competition and set a 3pm deadline for the York bus to turn up. Would he have gone through with his threat to call the game off if York did not make it?
