A COUNCIL has come under fire for charging residents to get rid of mice, amid fears it will lead to plagues of ver min.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council brought in charges earlier this year for the first time to increase revenue from its pest control service. Householders are charged Pounds 30 for the service, although there is still no charge to get rid of rats.
