SHEILA and Kevin Bourne, pictured below, are obviously very proud of their home of eight years, and they have every reason to be. Practical, homely, and with a little bit of luxury in the back garden, it's the ideal setting for bringing up children in a safe and happy environment - as they have proved by doing just that with their two boys Blane, aged nine, and five-year-old Tyler.
Kevin, a race driving instructor, says: "We wanted to live at this end of the city, and when we came to visit this place it was the size of the property and of the garden which struck us the most. "We knew we had a lot of work to do on it though. It was a nice house, but very dated." Since the Bourne family has lived at Oakhurst Crescent they have greatly updated their home. These improvements include new double glazed uPVC in all windows, cavity wall insulation, oak flooring, retiling and a new kitchen.
