ALL LIT UP: Youngster Ruby Parr will help Santa turn on Congleton's Christmas lights this year.

Festive celebrations in the town will start on Friday, November 25, when the lights will be switched on at 5.30pm by Santa and three- year-old Ruby, of Congleton, who is battling a rare chromosome disorder. Ruby will arrive at the event on Father Christmas's sleigh pulled by members of Congleton Football Club. Other attractions on the night include late-night opening for shops, choir performances and a craft fair.
