ICKY Adams admits he will be glad to see the back of his annus horribilis... particularly after it initially promised to be a year of great success for the Vale boss.

He could not have been in a better position as he entered 2011, having guided Vale to the cusp of promotion and just taken the job he'd always coveted ... as manager of hometown club Sheffield United. But it all went wrong as Vale capitulated during the chaotic 75-day reign of Jim Gannon and Adams was sacked at Bramall Lane after suffering relegation.
