FILM Anna Drinkwater, aged 37, from Emery Avenue, the Westlands, is a member of the Newcastle Players. She prefers the lighthearted comedy of Walt Disney's The Three Musketeers, to other, more serious films. I THINK it's the fact that there is a lot of action involved in The Three Musketeers, with the characters going from one disaster to another, that makes it my favourite film. It has the typical Disney feel of the goodies winning against the baddies, and has Chris O'Donnell, playing D'Arta...
Book Sue Beech, Aged 53, [...] ; Your Favourite...
BOOK Sue Beech, aged 53, from Congleton, is the Chair of Society at the Congleton Youth Theatre. She explains the impact Johanna Spyri's Heidi had on her childhood. I WAS drawn to this book as a young girl, and I have read it at least four or five times. The story is so endearing and sad, as Heidi is an orphan, sent to live with her grandfather in the Swiss mountains. When she is taken away to the big city, she experiences homesickness for her grandfather and eventually she is reunited with him.

MADAM, - Reading an article Saturday's Sentinel a while ago brought back many happy memories of when I was at Queensberry Road Boys School in Normacot, Longton, where Laurie Landon, pictured, with his award from the YHA, was a teacher in the 1950s. While I was there Laurie Landon took me and many other boys on YHA trips to many hostels all over the British Isles, including the Antrim Coast, and the Isle of Arran. These where times I have never forgotten, he inspired my love of walking, climbi...
MADAM, - In All Our Yesterdays a while ago you printed a picture of the Old Haywood Hospital but I felt the caption accompanying it was somewhat misleading. The old Hospital became Burslem Junior Technical School in 1932 and retained that name until 1949.
